Brazilian Blowout

I tried the "controversial" Brazilian Blowout for the first time in the end of last year. It was honestly the best thing ever! My hair (half Nigerian hair) is really curly naturally and hard to manage, so I decided to try it out. I met a girl last year who had done it and her hair looked amazing. I'm a huge fan of Lifebooker (similar to Groupon, Citydeal, etc.) and I found a great deal and a great hair stylist. I heard she does the best extensions in Beverly Hills, so if you're in need of a good stylist, I recommend her.

The Brazilian Blowout lasted in my hair from end of November until a couple weeks ago (mid-April), so I went to do it again. It makes your hair so much more manageable and the curl softer...it has keratin in it, so it conditions the hair as well...I recommend it and Anush! http://www.anushhairdesign.com/

My sis's fave..

The curl getting softer

The product is strong so this blows away the fumes
Facebookin' under the dryer

The end result

Nice, straight and manageable :)

You're supposed to wash your hair after 3 days of the treatment...before my hair was so curly when it got wet, now it's just wavy
After blow drying the hair dry

Not too shabby..

This week's nail color for fingers+toes...my #1 fave color O.P.I. "Peel Here"

My new fave drink..yum

Women's Day!

Happy Women's Day to all the wonderful women everywhere! You are ALL beautiful, priceless and important! I really love being a women and I enjoy this holiday. I remember last year, it was funny because my significant other who is from the States had never heard about it and thought I was making it up. I really haven't seen or heard anyone talking about Women's Day here in the States, even though I thought it was an International holiday? Maybe not. I was still happy when he remembered it, bought me flowers, and took me out to dinner and shopping.

Women's day is a great opportunity for women to enjoy all the things that women can do: be feminine, use pretty clothes, pamper themselves and whatever feels good! It's also nice when men acknowledge women on this day.

I started off my Women's Day by going to get a laser treatment. I'm so excited that I finally started doing the laser hair removal to all the parts I don't like hair growth in. My hair is very thick, since I'm half Nigerian, and it grows fast in certain areas. Also, since I have such a low tolerance for pain, waxing and sugaring have been so painful and inconvenient for the past years. I started a 1-year treatment for my underarms and brazilian bikini area, and those are the only two areas that really bother me so I'm really happy!

I'll be coming here every 5 weeks for the next year.

This is what the procedure looks like. Takes only a couple minutes! (Source: http://www.girlishh.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/laser-hair-removal2.jpg)

I went for a little hike after my laser appointment.

My favorite view from Runyon Canyon! It was such a nice and sunny day today!

After Runyon, it was time to get my nails done. They were sooo overdue!

O.P.I. "Peel here" ...one of my favorite colors ever!!!

The color doesn't show that well in pics, but it's silver & gold with tiny red/copper dots.

Also had a great yoga sculpt class & now time for dinner!

Sending love to all my ladies!

Women should really support each other and work together more!

5 Things I like about February

It's been a while and it's been a quite busy week and a half! School is back on (full schedule), Valentine's Day just passed and I've just been passing time with friends & fam :)

I love little house ornaments and found this item last week, had to get it:

I was shopping house stuff w/ my future mom-in-law and saw this..
5 Things I LOVE about February:

1. Valentine's Day
It's one of my favorite holidays and I love the "love in the air" -feeling. Especially in the US it is really popular and all the restaurants are full of couples celebrating this holiday. I also love chocolate, and that's associated with this day, so it's awesome!

2. It's the shortest month of the year
Even though winter is not real winter in California, I can't wait for the hot, summer weather, so the faster the winter goes by, the faster the summer can arrive!

3. Spring Semester begins
This is a good and bad things, but mainly good. Even though after a really relaxing Winter session at school, Spring semester feels really busy with a full schedule, BUT it's my last semester at my current school so I'm excited about moving forward in my scholarly journey!

4. Presidents' Day
Presidents' Day just passed here in the States, it was the 20th of Feb and it was a holiday, so no school and a lot of sales! I bought a lot of clothes for sooo cheap, which is great!

5. March is the next month
I'm just happy in general that it is March soon, because there are a lot of positive things happening in that month :)

Box of my favorite chocolate in the States....yummyyy<3

Sooo goooood!!!

Some more...

My Valentine's day nail color :) (this nail shop didn't do a good job :( )
This past week, I also decided to my own nails after the V-Day color got chipped after 2 days (argh! never going there again!) and washing my own hair (which is a process, because flat ironing is so annoying). I also did a mud mask and some soothing sea salt + hot water treatments on the skin.

Hungarian Mud
Sea Salt

My sulfate-free shampoos that I have to use because I did the Brazilian Blowout some months ago.

I'm so excited because before the Brazilian Blowout my hair was super frizzy and curly... Now this is what it looks like after I wash it and dry just a little BEFORE flat ironing... I wish I had a before picture to show how curly it was!

My nail color for this week.. I did it myself this time. With Lumene Party On underneath and O.P.I. Gold Shatter on top.

This is what it is supposed to look like with the Gold Shatter on top so I don't know what happened with the other nails
